Twile is a secure, visual timeline that allows parents to record their children’s lives through photos, videos and milestones.
Rather than posting photos of their children on Facebook – where security and privacy are a concern and not everyone will find them interesting – parents can add to a private timeline that is shared only with close friends and family.
The combination of a rich, visual design and a simple, intuitive interface makes it easy and enjoyable to add content to the timeline and to browse through family history.
As well as adding ‘stories’ directly, a user will be able to connect their Twile account to Dropbox, Flickr and other photo sources to automatically populate their timeline with photos, based on the date they were taken.
Our target market is parents that have young children and our marketing efforts will be focussed on offline and online communities where mothers meet regularly. We are also developing a referral scheme to encourage viral growth.
We are experimenting with a number of potential revenue streams, including a premium version of the product, selling targeted advertising opportunities and an extended tool for use by nurseries and child-minders.
Twile is already up-and-running at twile.com as a fully-developed product. We have a small base of beta users who provide regular feedback on features as we develop them and we’re now looking to accelerate our progress and launch the site publicly.
We are seeking investment to recruit a development team, fund early marketing and support the growth of the platform while we scale the user base and develop our revenue streams.
