dotforge Demo Days – Sheffield & London

29 Jul 2013

We’ve had an amazing 3 months helping the dotforge startups get ready for their next stage of growth. They came to us at a very early stage, greener than you tend to get on other accelerators, but the feedback from investors and mentors at both our Sheffield and London end of programme demo days is that they leave us ahead of the curve in comparison to many.

On Tuesday 16 July the dotforge teams took to the stage at Sheffield’s world-famous Crucible Theatre, pitching to a room full of investors, press and the local tech and startup community.

The 5 minute pitches, typical of accelerator demo days, broke the mold here in Sheffield. The audience were invigorated and impressed with the concise format and high quality of the presentations.

After the pitches, investors and mentors had a chance to try out each of the products and see how the teams’ lean approach to customer and user feedback had helped them develop a strong product-market fit for each of their platforms.

One week after the success of our Crucible event, we took the teams to the in London. All six teams performed magnificently and showed the audience, many of whom have followed their progress on dotforge from early days, just how far they’ve come.

From where they started – pre-revenue, and pre-product in many cases – they have each created solid bases with user and revenue traction from which to move forward. That’s really impressive progress, and a great sign of what these new companies can achieve in the coming months.

Investment syndicates already beginning to form, supported by our partners, the Yorkshire Association of Business Angels.  If you’d like to invest in any of the teams, just let us know and we’ll plug you into that process.
