Phil is an innovator and entrepreneur working in engineering, sensors and monitoring.

His first company, Tribosonics Ltd, works in the Formula1, Nuclear, Aerospace, Marine and Oil and Gas industries delivering novel sensing and monitoring technologies using ultrasonics. His second company, Strainsonics Ltd (a joint venture with Stressed Structural Ltd), has developed a novel load monitoring technology with extensive application in the civil engineering industry.

Phil has a PhD in Tribology and Ultrasonics, is a chartered engineer and a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing. He has extensive experience in sensing technologies, electronics hardware development, software, patenting, technology licensing, tribology, ultrasonics, LabVIEW, business startup, ISO9001, and product design.
